MULTIDISCIPLINARY DESIGNER; CREATES PRODUCTS, PACKAGING, ENVIRONMENTS, AND EXPERIENCES.
From big agency work to boutique studio gigs, Portia finds her bliss collaborating with inspiring lifestyle and fashion brands. A small sampling of projects over the past ten years include designing modern packaging for centuries-old liquor, helping to spruce up tech industry offices, drafting new logos for old brands, and creating just the right way to display a bottle of perfume that gets noticed.
Portia's design perspective is influenced by her bi-costal lifestyle (with time spent in NY, SF, and LA) blended with her training in woodworking, peppered generously with her small town charm (hometown population: 600). Her work has received praise in many design and lifestyle outlets including The New York Times, New York Magazine, Lucky Magazine, Metropolis, The Los Angeles Times, DesignSponge, Notcot and the books, What is Product Design?, Pattern Design – Applications & Variations, and Shaker Design: Out of this World. She currently lives in Southern California with her husband.
